About Mar de Dins

People are as if we had an inner sea, sometimes we are calm, other times raging, and other times we simply let ourselves go like the current. We are affected, like the sea, by external factors that cause tides, waves, and tsunamis, and we have to overcome them to reach a successful port. The sea and sailing are like a great metaphor for our lives and this name inspired me.

Mar de Dins was born with the idea of sharing with other people the feelings that sailing in the sea transmits. When we are at sea aboard a sailboat and we move over the water with only the force of the wind pushing the sails, without rushing, with the pleasant sound provided by the sea and the wind, we feel that time slows down and the usual concerns are no longer so important and remain grounded; Listening to the silence of the sea, dining at anchor in a cove under the stars or sleeping under the moonlight are some of those sensations that are difficult to explain in words.

My hope is not only to share it with those people who rent the Ikigai to spend a special day or a vacation but above all to bring the sea and sailing closer to those groups who, due to their physical, economic and social circumstances, do not have access to this activity. and they cannot enjoy the benefits it has for the physical and mental health of the people who practice it.

That is why Mar de Dins is primarilly aimed at people with physical and/or mental functional diversity, people at risk of social exclusion or with social integration problems and people/groups for whom these experiences in contact with the sea can be beneficial both physically and emotionally.

Choosing the direction we want, charting our route and destination, makes us feel alive and free, and Mar de Dins is sharing that feeling of life and freedom with other people.
